“This Choice Wasn’t Rough”: Marvel’s Spider-Man Director Responds to Critics of Peter Parker’s New Face

The director of Marvel’s Spider-Man Bryan Intihar (Bryan Intihar) in his microblog commented on Insomniac Games’ decision to change the face of Peter Parker in the remaster of the PS5 game.

We will remind, yesterday it became known that the basis for the appearance of the main character of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will be taken not by John Bubniak, but Ben Jordan.

Not everyone liked the choice of the studio: under the video demonstrating the new Peter Parker, there were almost twice as many negative assessments as positive ones (6.6 thousand versus 3.4 thousand).

According to Intihar, this decision was not easy for the team. Insomniac Games ventured such a step to bring the hero’s appearance closer to what his voice actor looks like – Yuri Lowenthal.

“We are as attached to this character as you are, so know that this choice was not rash. As with the development of Marvel’s Spider-Man, we will continue to read your comments, listen and always look for ways to make the game better, ” Intihar said.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will offer improved graphics and animation, ray tracing, 60fps support, near-instant downloads, as well as three bundled additions to the original game and three new costumes.

The modernized Marvel’s Spider-Man will be available on November 19 as part of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS5. Neither the transfer of the saves, nor the independent release, nor the free upgrade for the owners of the PS4 version of the remaster is supposed.
