Perhaps it will compensate for insufficient memory bandwidth

Leaks about GeForce RTX 3000 graphics cards appeared late this year, especially in terms of technical details and performance. With AMD Radeon graphics cards of the new generation, it is about the same: the announcement will take place at the end of this month, but so far we have mostly only rumors and a few photos.

And today some interesting details have appeared. Recall, according to numerous rumors, the top-end next-generation Radeon video card will receive 16 GB of memory, but it will be GDDR6 memory, that is, not the fastest to date. In addition, the adapter is assigned a 256-bit bus. As a result, the memory bandwidth of such a video card will be much lower than that of the RTX 3080. However, perhaps we just do not know everything.

The source reports that new Radeon video cards can get some kind of cache. Initially, it was allegedly called something else, but recently AMD registered the Infinity Cache trademark, so this may be the name of this solution in serial products. As the name suggests, this development is related to the Infinity Fabric bus used by AMD in its processors. At the same time, it is still difficult to even guess what kind of cache we are talking about and how it will be implemented, but, probably, this has a direct bearing on the memory of the video card.
