Discrete budget graphics cards are becoming less and less necessary
The next generation of Ryzen mobile APUs will bring another significant jump in iGPU performance. A processor from the new Ryzen 8000 line has been lit up on the Web, and it has a graphics core with 1024 stream processors.
The APU model is unknown. IGPU is defined as Strix, which means that we have a Strix Point model. According to these data, which also confirm early leaks, the iGPU will receive 16 CU units, that is, 1024 stream processors. For comparison, the Radeon 780M has 768 of them. In addition, the GPU architecture of the new product will be new: RDNA 3.5. It will only be available in hybrid processors and will not appear in discrete video cards.
This is AMD’s new weapon against Intel’s mobile CPUs.
Such an increase in the number of computing units, plus an updated architecture and, probably, an increase in frequencies should greatly improve performance.
But it’s not just the iGPU that will be better. The processor part will also change greatly. The software confirms early rumors about the presence of 12 CPU cores. It’s worth saying here that we are talking about a model that is expected to be included in the Ryzen 8050H/HS line. The APU will have four Zen 5 cores and eight Zen 5c cores.
