Samsung introduced the world’s first ultra-small, high-capacity, high-voltage multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC).

This is not dust – these are Samsung’s new ultra-small, high-capacity capacitors. The company managed to increase the work stress by one and a half times

The new capacitors are so tiny that from a short distance they can seem like dust. The dimensions of the capacitor are 0.4 mm x 0.2 mm (metric standard size 0402), the capacitance is 1 μF, and the nominal voltage is 6.3 V.

These are not the first capacitors of this size in the world, but previously the best ones with the same capacity were characterized by a voltage of 4 V, which limited their use in modern electronic devices.

Samsung clarifies that such capacitors will be used in smartphones with 5G, but they are clearly not limited to this segment.
