A patent entitled “Apparatus and method of lighting a camera in an electronic device” was registered in October 2020 with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The 68-page documentation was published on April 15, 2021.

In addition, you can use the phone in its fully open position.
For this smartphone, Samsung chose a camera with two holes in the screen. Instead of a flash, Samsung wants to use the light emitted from the display. This solution has long been used in conventional smartphones.
The patent also refers to a fingerprint scanner built into the display. There are currently no foldable smartphones on the market with a sub-screen fingerprint sensor.
