This year Samsung will introduce a flexible smartphone that folds in two places

Earlier it was reported that this year Samsung would not release another smartphone of the Galaxy Note series, although this information was later denied. However, rumor has it that the company is much more focused on foldable devices. And this year, in addition to the new models of the Z Fold and Z Flip series, the Korean company will present a flexible smartphone that folds in two places.

Nikkei Asia says the device will launch later this year.  The purpose of the new design is to combine the ability to work with displays with an aspect ratio of 16: 9 and 18: 9 in one smartphone. This will help avoid the scaling issues inherent in the current Galaxy Z Flip 2.

It should be noted that earlier, Samsung has patented several designs of smartphones with a screen that folds in two places. One of the more interesting design options is demonstrated by a patent published in late 2020. He describes a wide device, the sides of which can be folded back, making the smartphone more compact.
