Thor’s model and more: a blogger hacked a camera in God of War and revealed the secrets of one of the last scenes of the game
It is not uncommon for enthusiasts to hack into games’ cameras to uncover secrets and interesting tricks from developers. Recently, such a trick was done with Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Now the author of the YouTube channel Speclizer decided to research the God of War sample of 2018 in a similar way. The blogger focused on one of the final scenes of the game and revealed its hidden details. Attention: further in the news there are spoilers for the plot of the project.
When Atreus scattered the ashes of his mother from the top of the highest mountain in the world, he returned to his home with his father Kratos. They went to bed and saw the same dream: as if Thor, the god of thunder in Scandinavian mythology, had arrived at their house. It is shown in the cutscene, but the character appears before it even starts, as shown in the Speclizer cinematic. The blogger also took a close look at Thor’s model. He was portrayed as a tall, well-built man with blue eyes and a thick beard, which, incidentally, falls through the texture of his clothes. It is difficult to see the Thunderer directly in the game since he appears only for a moment.
Besides Thor, Speclizer showed the legendary hammer Mjolnir. This weapon hangs from the belt of a Scandinavian god. And at the end, the blogger moved outside the map and demonstrated how the world works in God of War.
Recall that the camera in the latest game Santa Monica Studio has been hacked not for the first time. This was previously done by modder Lance McDonald, which helped him discover a funny Easter egg with Balder.
