The Yandex team announced the launch of a robot taxi in Moscow. The service for ordering cars, controlled by artificial intelligence, is currently operating in test mode in the Yasenevo district.
You can book a trip in the Yandex Go app every day, from 7 am to 1 am. The first to take part in testing will be users who applied in advance on the project website . Then other residents of the Yasenevo district will have access. They will see a special button in the application for ordering a robot taxi.

By clicking on it, you can select pick-up and drop-off points and call the car. In total, there are about forty such points in the region. Residents of the district will be able to get, for example, from the Sozvezdie school to the metro or from Bitsevsky Park to the Eurospar supermarket.
In accordance with Russian legislation, a test driver is constantly in the robotaxi, who monitors the safety of the trip. Now the robotaxi takes only one passenger. Users from 18 years old can order a car. Each trip will cost 100 rubles.

Public testing of robot taxis in Moscow is a new stage in the development of unmanned technologies. The first robotic taxi tests took place in 2018 in Innopolis, and then in Moscow. Since then, Yandex’s unmanned vehicles have traveled more than 24 million kilometers, and Innopolis residents have made more than 60,000 trips.
