Tim Cook said he is likely to step down as Apple CEO within 10 years

Apple CEO Tim Cook gave an interview to American journalist Kara Swisher, in which he commented on plans to lead the company. He said he could step down as CEO within the next 10 years. Cook noted that this is a long time and refused to name the exact date of leaving.

“Another 10 years? Probably no. But I can tell you that I feel good now and cannot give an exact date yet. But 10 years is a long time and, probably, my further leadership will last no more than 10 years, ”said Cook.

Swisher also asked him what he could have been doing if he hadn’t worked at Apple. In response, he said that he loved the company too much and could not imagine life without it.

Tim Cook has been with Apple since 1997. He took over the company in 2011, following the death of founder Steve Jobs. When Cook celebrated his 60th birthday in 2020, many began discussing how long he would continue to hold office.

Bloomberg also reported that Apple is increasingly focusing on succession planning. Presumably, potential candidates for the post of Apple CEO are Jeff Williams and John Ternus.
