Last quarter, the top ten largest suppliers of semiconductor products increased sales by 16%

Analysts at IC Insights published a report for the first quarter of 2020 related to the semiconductor market. Let us clarify that they included integrated circuits and semiconductor products of other categories.

Compared to the first quarter of last year, this market grew by 7%. It is noteworthy that manufacturers, which are in the top ten in terms of sales, were able to increase sales by 16%.

The market leader is Intel, whose revenue was $ 19.508 billion. In annual terms, it increased sales by 23%. Samsung, which ranks at $ 14.797 billion, ranks second with sales up 15%. The third place belongs to TSMC.

The Taiwanese company managed to increase sales by 45%, to $ 10.319 billion. By the way, this is the only purely contract manufacturer.

All the other top ten companies had less than $ 10 billion in revenue, and to get into the top ten it was necessary to get at least $ 2.67 billion in revenue – that is how much HiSilicon earned in the quarter, which became the first Chinese manufacturer to enter the top ten, displacing from there, Kioxia, formerly known as Toshiba.

HiSilicon is a Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei division, and over 90% of HiSilicon products are purchased by the parent company.

HiSilicon sales in annual terms grew by 54%, which is the best figure in the top ten.
