Toshiba invests $ 15 million in Fortem Technologies
Toshiba recently announced that it has signed a strategic agreement with Fortem Technologies, a young American company developing anti-unmanned aerial vehicle technology. Under the terms of the agreement, Toshiba will invest $ 15 million in Fortem Technologies.
Toshiba will be strategic partner of Fortem Technologies, a drone-fighting technology company
Founded in 2016, Fortem supplies counter-drone tools. These are, in particular, small high-precision radars for detecting drones and interceptor drones, which can capture other unmanned aerial vehicles in special networks.
In turn, Toshiba has already brought a drone detection system to the stage of a commercial product, which determines the direction from which the drone is approaching, and the height of its flight by radio waves emitted by the device in flight.
The alliance is expected to bring together complementary Toshiba and Fortem systems to deliver more efficient, tiered counter-drone solutions and services, and expand sales in Japan and the United States, and promising overseas markets including Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
