ProAce Max is almost a copy of Peugeot Boxer
Today is Toyota’s announcement day: along with the new Crown Signia crossover, the company introduced the ProAce Max electric van and announced the Hilux hybrid pickup truck.
Since Toyota commercial vehicles are created in collaboration with Groupe PSA (Citroen, Peugeot, Opel, Vauxhall and DS Automobiles), it is not surprising that the ProAce Max looks almost exactly like the Peugeot Boxer, which, by the way, also has electric version (e-Boxer).
Toyota introduced the green ProAce Max with a range of 420 km and announced the Hilux Hybrid 48V
Toyota does not talk about the power of the power plant or the capacity of the ProAce Max traction battery; only the range is known – 420 km (according to the WLTP method). The body volume is 17 m 3 , and for the first time on commercial vehicles of a Japanese company, the rear doors open to an angle of 270°.
The interior has a fully digital instrument panel, a media system with built-in navigation and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless interfaces. The van received a set of branded Toyota Safety Sense safety systems of the latest generation.
There are even fewer details about the Hilux Hybrid 48V (from the name it is clear that it is a “mild” hybrid with a 48-volt starter-generator). It is reported that the pickup has improved traction control both in normal driving modes and off-road, while towing capabilities (up to 3.5 tons) and payload capacity (1 ton) remained at the same level.
