Toyota unveils first of 15 electric vehicles to be released by 2025

Toyota unveiled its new all-electric concept SUV at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show on Monday. The Toyota bZ4X is the first all-electric vehicle in the new Beyond Zero (BZ) family. In total, the company plans to produce 15 all-electric vehicles by 2025, seven of which are under the bZ badge.

The first car was built on Toyota’s new e-TNGA BEV electric platform, which the company has jointly created with Subaru. It is expected that Subaru will also present its electric car to the public on the same platform shortly.

The new electric car has several distinctive features, including a system that can use solar energy to mitigate the impact of cold weather on the car’s range and a steering wheel instead of a conventional steering wheel. The interior of the car also has a large touch screen.

The automaker plans to launch its electric vehicle in both Japan and China. According to the company, it should be available globally by mid-2022. Toyota hasn’t announced a full charge range, but it will likely compete with other EVs on the market, including the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which has a range of over 500 km.

Toyota also did not disclose the cost of the upcoming bZ4X electric vehicle, but CarandDriver.com estimates the car will sell for about $ 40,000 – the same price as the current Toyota RAV4 hybrid.
