Closed Testing is part of the “next phase” of game development in the studio, according to Turn 10 Creative Director Chris Esaki. The team wants to receive more user feedback while working on projects.

“We do not only use Forza Feedback Panel but also hold weekly gaming tests inside the Xbox Game Studios and get a lot of information and feedback on development progress, helping us fine-tune the different elements and make the game suitable for everyone – said Esaki. ” Today, I am sharing with you this news: soon Forza Feedback Panel members will be able to try out some of the new Forza Motorsport independently.”

Esaki clarified that, at the moment, this is the only way to participate in testing the game. In the coming months, the authors plan to conduct several stages of testing.  “I hope you are looking forward to [this event], ” he added. ” […] Our team has come a long way, and now I want to welcome you to this new development stage officially.”

Previously, the Forza Feedback Panel was used for polls, based on which developers made changes to games. Anyone who has reached the age of 18 can register in the program.

The new Forza Motorsport (introduced without a number in the name) was announced in July 2020. At that time, the project was at an early stage of development. Esaki spoke about the very first internal testing of the simulator back in December 2019.

Details are still scarce: the creators describe Forza Motorsport as a “reimagining” of the series and promise to combine its main advantages with “new concepts and technologies” Support for ray tracing, 4K resolution, and 60 frames / s (on the older console model) is declared. The world will be “connected and dynamic” – with the reflections of cars in each other, the play of light and shadow, and detailed tracks.

The simulator will be released on PC, Xbox Series X, and S. The game will immediately enter the Xbox Game Pass subscription. The release date has not been specified – apparently, the premiere will not take place this year.

Last November, Forza Horizon 4 received an update for the Xbox Series X and S with higher resolutions and frame rates, faster downloads, and graphics improvements. The game was released on Steam on March 9 this year. Last year, GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb suggested that Forza Horizon 5 may appear as early as 2021.
