Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 Ray Tracing Benchmarks: RX 6800 XT and RX 6700 XT Behind RTX 3080 and RTX 3070
Cyberpunk 2077 recently received patch 1.2, which contained over five hundred changes. After installing the update, the journalists of the portal GameStar decided to conduct tests of ray tracing in the game. The test was carried out on video cards AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, Powercolor Red Devil RX 6700 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. It turned out that solutions from AMD are far behind their competitors.
We tested the game on a PC with an Intel Core i9-9900K processor and 16 GB of RAM. At first, GameStar representatives set the resolution to 1080p. At medium ray tracing settings, the RX 6800 XT achieved only 46.4 fps – almost half the RTX 3080. A similar difference is observed between the RX 6700 XT (35.3 fps) and the RTX 3070 (64.7 fps). /with). And if you set high ray tracing settings, then on all video cards, the frame rate is reduced by another 10-15 frames / s. However, the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 still perform well, but the RX 6700 XT at 25.1 fps will not be very pleasant to play.
Switching to 1440p, the difference in performance remains: the RTX 3080 is almost twice as fast as the RX 6800 XT, and the RTX 3070 is ahead of the RX 6700 XT. On solutions from AMD with high ray tracing settings, the frame rate, in this case, reaches only 17-24 frames / s.
But in 4K resolution, the situation becomes sad in all cases. At medium ray tracing settings, the RTX 3080 performed best at 28.5 fps. Next comes the RTX 3070 (20.4 fps), followed by the RX 6800 XT (17.8 fps), and at the bottom of the list is the RX 6700 XT (12.3 fps). Switching to high ray tracing settings will drop the frame rate by 4-14 fps.
