Courtney Craven, founder of Can I Play That, which reviews games and technology in terms of accessibility for gamers with disabilities, drew attention to the inappropriate statement about people with disabilities in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

It is about describing a character who received serious burns as a child and now lives in fear that someone will see her “disfigured face”. According to Craven, it is completely unacceptable to speak in such a way about facial differences.
The official Twitter account of Assassin’s Creed apologized for inadvertently reinforcing the so-called ayblism with such statements, and also noted that the description of the character will be changed in the upcoming patch.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now on PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC. The PS5 release will take place on November 12.
