UK charts: revamped NieR Replicant debuted at # 1, but lost to Automata in sales
The Games Industry portal has shared information on sales of retail editions of games in the UK from 18 to 24 April 2021. The week was marked by the release of an updated version of the cult action game NieR.
The premiere of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … turned out to be relatively successful – the game started from the first place on the weekly chart, which NieR: Automata failed to do at one time (the philosophical action game debuted on the 6th line ).
Despite this, the sales of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … lost to the previous release, and quite seriously – about 50%. However, the share of digital distribution has grown significantly since the release of Automata.
Games Industry notes that over 89% of the retail copies of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … sold in the UK were on the PlayStation 4 and only 11% on the Xbox One.
In general, the week for the British retail came out so quiet (only 137 thousand copies of games sold) that the PC release – Football Manager 2021 – made it to the top 10. Discounts contributed to the rise of the football manager from the 27th line.
The one who did not break into the top ten over the past reporting period is the temporary Switch-exclusive Monster Hunter Rise – the triumphant of the last all-March chart fell from first place to 11th in a month.
Next week, Games Industry anticipates the scene of a confrontation between two major April exclusives: Returnal for PlayStation 5 (April 30) and New Pokemon Snap for Nintendo Switch (also April 30).
The top 10 UK retail charts from April 18-24 are as follows (last week’s result is shown in parentheses):
