“Unkillable” Amazfit Ares smartwatches are fully declassified a few hours before the announcement
The details were shared by the well-known resource GizmoChina, which gained access to marketing materials. Amazfit Ares watches received a “brutal” design in two colors – black and “military” green.
Amazfit Ares received a 1.28-inch octagonal color screen, which outdoors in bright light automatically adds brightness. Huami notes the protected design with a polycarbonate screen frame and Gorilla Glass 3. A couple of straps are included, but other watch straps will not work.
The watch supports 70 types of various activities, including basic ones, including running, swimming, biking, and more unusual ones, including martial arts, ballet, bowling, and much more. The watch is protected from water (5 ATM), it tracks the user’s movements using GPS and GLONASS, there is a barometer, Biotracker PPG heart rate sensor for round-the-clock heart rate monitoring. Supported reminders from a smartphone, reminders against a sedentary lifestyle, music playback control, and offline payments.
The battery has a capacity of 200 mAh. The materials note that this is enough to work without recharging for 13 days with constant monitoring of heart rate, sleep, 150 reminders per day, and GPS on for half an hour a day, as well as three workouts per week. With the GPS turned on all day, the battery life will be 23 hours. And in the basic mode, Amazfit Ares watches will last up to 90 days without the need for recharging. The watch is charging from the magnetic dock. It is possible to interact with smartphones on Android 5.0 Lollipop and higher, as well as iOS 10 and higher. Bluetooth 4.2 BLE is supported.
Recall, Huami is a well-known manufacturer of wearable devices under its own brand Amazfit and Xiaomi’s contract partner in the field of fitness bracelets.
