Tesla Model 3 electric car has risen in price by $ 2000 since the beginning of the year

Tesla Model 3 electric car has risen in price by $ 2000 since the beginning of the year

Tesla does not explain why it is changing the selling prices for its electric vehicles; such actions sometimes seem chaotic. The cost of the Tesla Model 3 has changed five times since the beginning of the year, and the cheapest version of this electric car ultimately increased in price by $ 2,000. Some versions of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y have added $ 500 this week.

Until 2021, Tesla limited itself to infrequent but more noticeable price changes for electric vehicles, but now it is ready to change prices more often, albeit for a smaller amount. The company has already increased prices for its Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles in April, with a second increase this week.

The junior electric car of the family, Model 3 Standard Range Plus, has increased its official price on the American market from $ 38 490 to $ 38 990. The next modification, Model 3 Long Range AWD, has also risen in price by the same $ 500. It is now estimated at $ 47 990. Only the older version named Model 3 Performance avoided the price increase, keeping it at $ 56,990. In February, the younger Tesla Model 3 cost $ 37,000 and has since added $ 2,000 in price.

Tesla Model Y crossovers are offered in only two modifications; only the youngest of them has risen in price by $ 500 – Model Y Long Range AWD is offered to Americans for $ 50,990. Model Y Performance variant is estimated at the previous $ 60,990. Electrek may be due to both rising costs of the company due to a shortage of electronic components and rising prices for steel, and an attempt to adapt to the changing conditions for providing subsidies to American buyers of electric vehicles, which the US government allocates.
