American woman fined for trying to bribe German passport officer with $100
A 70-year-old American woman was fined for attempting to bribe a passport control officer at Munich airport. She tried to bypass passport control without a valid ID, claiming she left her passport on a previous flight. When asked about it, she offered a $100 bill to be let through. German authorities denied her entry, fined her $1,122 for attempted bribery, and she had to wait in Munich until she obtained a new passport from the U.S. Consulate.
