Now pressing the shutdown button does not necessarily mean rebooting or shutting down directly
An image and a short video appeared on the Web, demonstrating the capabilities of the shutdown menu in Android 11. It should be noted that it looks completely redesigned. Even the standard shutdown and reboot icons are redone – they are placed at the very top and are located horizontally. There are four icons themselves – you can take another screenshot and dial the emergency number.
Users will be able to customize the shutdown menu in Android 11
But the most interesting is under them because the shutdown menu in Android 11 takes up the whole screen! A floor below, a user can place a block with a payment card attached to Google Pay, and even lower you can place a block called “Quick Controls” for managing smart home devices. So a long press on the shutdown key of a smartphone with Android 11 does not necessarily lead directly to shutdown – this is one of the extensive menus with which the user can, for example, pay at the store or lower the level of brightness of the lighting in the room.
