Video: an enthusiast adapts a remake of Demon’s Souls for bongo drumming

Blogger Super Louis 64, who specializes in adapting games to unconventional control methods, has posted a video showing excerpts from the Demon’s Souls remake on bongo drums.

The problems began even before the start of the game: the character in the updated Demon’s Souls has 20 different actions available, while even two “drum” controllers provided the enthusiast with half the possibilities.

Without thinking twice, Super Louis 64 abandoned half of the “unnecessary” commands (blocking attacks, changing weapons and spells) and left only the most necessary: movement, somersault, hit, using an object (for healing), and fixing the camera.

Despite all the limitations, Super Louis 64 was able to overcome the resistance of four bosses, including the starting one – for defeating him, the player gains access to an otherwise unattainable zone and a secret cutscene.

In the full recording of the broadcast on his Twitch channel, Super Louis 64 manages to visit the second world and even take over its first boss, but the enthusiast (at least this time) decided not to go further.

“In 2020, we can finally play Demon’s Souls the way Miyazaki intended. Donkey Kong bongos, of course. I don’t even know which is more impressive: having a PS5 or playing it with drums , ”wrote Super Louis 64 under the video.

The updated Demon’s Souls is available exclusively on PlayStation 5. Earlier it became known that a simplified model could appear in the remake , but its introduction was refused out of respect for the developers of the original game.
