Video: Former mobster reveals realistic moments in Mafia: Definitive Edition

An interesting video dedicated to Mafia: Definitive Edition, a fresh remake of the first part of the franchise, has appeared on the Nerdist YouTube channel. In it, a former member of a criminal gang and now famous writer Michael Franzese (Michael Franzese) told which of the moments of the game turned out to be realistic. He mentioned five episodes but kept silent about the implausible scenes since the video is a commercial and was created with the support of publishing house 2K Games.

Further in the material, there are small spoilers for the plot of Mafia: Definitive Edition.

Michael Franchise was in the Colombo family and understands perfectly how the work of the mafia works. By the age of 33, he was making nearly $ 8 million a week.

The first thing that the former boss noted was the escape of the main character Tommy Angelo from the Morello gangsters. According to Franchise, standing up for the opponents of the other family was the norm. True, the wars between the clans of the mafia were not carried out as often as everyone thinks. Usually, they started out of control of the territory and often ended in dozens of corpses.

The second aspect that Francheza liked was the mission with the destruction of Morello’s machines. The former boss says damaging another family’s property was common.

The third on the list is the episode with Salieri when he told Tom about the rules of the mafia. Franchise remembered the times when he joined the Colombo clan and swore oaths with five other guys. Each of them was killed.

Then the former boss shared his opinion about the episode with the murder of the hotel manager. According to Franchise, the elimination of unwanted people by this method is quite common among the mafia. True, most often the gangster hides his face, although there are also public executions.

And finally, the former boss spoke about the murders of the heads of the family. Raids such as Salieri in the restaurant were also carried out in reality. The franchise recalled a similar incident in New York and even named the steakhouse opposite which it happened.

Mafia: Definitive Edition was released on September 25, 2020, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game received good reviews from critics.
