Video: improved environment textures in the nextgen version trailer of the HD Reworked Project mod for The Witcher 3
HD Reworked Project is one of the most popular graphics modifications for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. At one time, even the developers from CD Projekt RED noted the high quality of its performance. The author of the project under the pseudonym Halk Hogan PL at the end of December last year announced its “nextgen version.” A major update with the subtitle NextGen is due out in 2021, but you can tentatively evaluate the upcoming changes now, thanks to the fresh trailer.
In the video, Halk Hogan PL showed how the textures in the modification would improve after the release of HD Reworked Project NextGen. Judging by the video, the comparison is made with the textures from the original The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The difference is significant: every element of the environment has become clearer and more detailed – this applies to building walls, fences, stone stairs, floor coverings, etc.
In the comments to his video, Halk Hogan PL made an interesting statement. It turns out that the developers from CD Projekt RED offered cooperation to the author. There is a possibility that the developments from the HD Reworked Project will be included in the version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Series S. According to recent statements, its release should take place in the second half of this year.
