Video: the fate of the protagonist and rave press reviews in the release trailer for Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Sega publisher and developer studio Ryu Ga Gotoku have unveiled a trailer for their action RPG Yakuza: Like a Dragon, timed to coincide with the game’s release on most target platforms.

Recall that in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, users get the role of Ichibana Kasuga – an aspiring gangster who, at the dawn of his criminal career, agreed to serve 18 years in prison for another’s a crime for the sake of his organization.

The almost two-minute video demonstrates the plot of the story and what awaits Kasuga upon leaving the prison: new friends, exciting adventures, and intense battles.

Among other things, the video also contains some rave reviews of Yakuza: Like a Dragon from the Western press. On Metacritic, the project was rated no worse than the previous parts.

It differs from the previous parts of the Yakuza: Like a Dragon franchise not only by a different protagonist but also by genre – the battles in the new release take place according to the precepts of classic JRPGs.

For the first time since the original Yakuza, a new game in the series has been dubbed in English in addition to Japanese. Earlier it also became known that with one of the post-release patches in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, subtitles in Russian will be added.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon went on sale November 10 for PC (Steam, Windows 10), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The PlayStation 5 version is expected on March 2, 2021.
