But Volkswagen will be able to fix the problem only at the end of the year.

The Volkswagen Atlas crossover, which is known in our market under the name Teramont, fell under a large recall campaign in the United States, and for a rather serious reason and in a rather unusual form.

Volkswagen Atlas owners are advised to ban people from sitting in the front passenger seat.

The fact is that a problem was found in the car with the front passenger presence detection system. Because of it, in the event of an accident, the front passenger airbags may not work, even if this passenger is present in the car. The problem is that Volkswagen will not have a solution that will correct the situation until the end of the year. Until then, NHTSA and Volkswagen say Atlas owners should not allow people to sit in the front passenger seat.

143,000 cars fell under the recall. Among them are Atlas copies produced from 2018 to 2021 and Atlas Cross Sport 2020.

Nothing is reported about the global Teramont model, but the bottom line is that it was produced in the same place in the USA as Atlas, that is, this is one car. It is possible that the owners of Teramont should also take care of the safety of their passengers.
