Roskosmos said that the airport under construction at the Vostochny cosmodrome received the first aircraft, which was the civilian Tu-134.
The Tu-134 aircraft of the state aviation of the state corporation Roscosmos landed at the airport of the Vostochny cosmodrome during a test flight to check the technical readiness of its runway. It was the first plane landing at the Vostochny airport.
The aircraft was flown by the crew of the Cosmonaut Training Center. Yu.A. Gagarin (part of Roskosmos), headed by the commander of the joint aviation detachment Vadim Yunders.

The crew worked out an exercise in preparation for approach and landing with limited use of approach means: “After a short stop and preparation for a re-flight, the plane went to the airport of Blagoveshchensk.”
At the moment, construction of objects of the second stage is underway on Vostochny, including the airport complex. In April, the Center for the Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure (TsENKI, part of Roscosmos) announced plans to increase the length of the runway from 3 km to 4 km.
Earlier it was reported that the Vostochny Cosmodrome Airport was supposed to receive the first aircraft back in 2022.
