Warsaw branch of Dying Light 2 development studio lost its head
The head of the Warsaw branch of Techland Kacper Michalski, on his page in the professional social network LinkedIn, announced his decision to leave the Polish studio.
Michalsky got a job in the studio in the fall of 2002 as a tester, rose to the assistant producer, and in 2012 moved to CI Games for three years. Since January 2016, he was again listed in the studio but already as head of a branch in the capital of Poland.
“After a little over 15 years (in total), yesterday was my last day at Techland … Wonderful Techland people, I love you – take care of yourself and your health and keep doing cool things!” – Mikhalsky wished his former colleagues.
According to Mikhalsky, he will devote the next few months to taking care of his mother and will be open to business proposals by the end of this fall or by the beginning of next.
In recent months, the Warsaw branch of Techland has helped the core team with Dying Light 2 – the sequel to the popular zombie action game was announced in 2018 and still has no release date.
In its free time from Dying Light 2, the branch is engaged in its own project, confirmed in May 2016 as a “fantasy game with a large open world and RPG elements. “
According to last year’s material from the PolskiGamedev portal, as a result of the transfer of the Warsaw branch to Dying Light 2, work on the fantasy project has slowed down. Therefore the release is expected no earlier than 2025.
