Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 users, annoyed by the lack of firmware updates, created a petition
Xiaomi is difficult to blame for inadequate software support for its smartphones, but some models experience unpleasant exceptions. For example, Mi A3 received a workable version of Android 10 only the fourth time, and the recent flagship Mi Mix 3 5G still costs MIUI 10 based on Android 9! And this despite the fact that, for example, the same Mi 8 has long acquired MIUI 11 based on Android 10. Of course, Mi Mix 3 users could not be happy with this state of affairs, which resulted in a petition on Change.org.
We, the owners of the flagship Mi Mix 3 5G, require Xiaomi to update our smartphone to MIUI 11 …
Users (169 people at the time of writing the news) require Xiaomi to update Mi Mix 3 5G, codenamed Andromeda, to MIUI 11, and also add it to the list of future updates MIUI 12, Android 10 and 11. Otherwise, signatories of the petition promise never to recommend Xiaomi products to friends and acquaintances for purchase.
The petition text says that Xiaomi justifies the lack of requested updates by the low sales of Mi Mix 3, but this should not, of course, concern smartphone users. Still, the flagship cost decent money, and those who dared to buy it have the right to count on the release of firmware updates along with the models released at the same time.
