Let’s briefly recall the key characteristics of the devices. These are the A14 Bionic processor, 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 2532 × 1170 pixels, Wi-Fi 6802.11ax, and Bluetooth 5.0 adapters, and MagSafe wireless charging system.

The iPhone 12 has a dual camera with a pair of 12-megapixel sensors and a flash storage capacity of 64 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB. iPhone 12 Pro has a camera with three 12-megapixel sensors and a lidar; storage capacity – 128, 256, or 512 GB.

Smartphones, as iFixit craftsmen found out, use a battery with a capacity of 10.78 Wh. For comparison: the battery capacity of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro is 11.91 and 11.67 Wh, respectively.

Compared to last year’s devices, the dimensions of the Taptic Engine module have changed: now they are equal to 22.25 x 9.48 x 3.56 mm against the previous 26.9 x 11.18 x 3.44 mm.

The smartphones are equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem. According to rumors, Qualcomm chips with support for fifth-generation mobile communications will be used in Apple smartphones until at least 2023.

IFixit is still investigating the internals of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. More information about the disassembly process can be found here
