What to replace: Apple is testing a prototype iPhone 16 Pro without a “dynamic island”

According to the source, Apple is now testing a version of the iPhone 16 Pro, which instead of the “dynamic island” uses a round cutout in the screen for the front camera, which is more familiar to smartphone users. Majin Bu noted that this prototype may remain a prototype, and another version will appear on store shelves. The final decision will be made in March 2024. According to the source, we will most likely see this version of the design no earlier than the iPhone 17. Majin Bu supplemented the publication with a render of the iPhone 16 Pro with such a cutout.

Let’s remember that Dynamic Island debuted last year on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, and in 2023 it will be used on all four models of the iPhone 15 line.

Informant Majin Bu previously revealed exact data about the iPad mini, iPhone 12 colors, iPhone 15 defects, and so on.
