The capacity will drop, but not critical
Before and during the announcement of recent new products, Redmi focused on the Redmi Note 9 4G smartphone battery – its capacity was a decent 6000 mAh. Now the head of the brand, Lu Weibing, told what will become of the smartphone’s battery after three years of operation.
What will happen to the battery of the “autonomy monster” Redmi Note 9 4G in three years?
It turned out that if you charge a smartphone daily for three years (that is, make 1000 charge cycles over this entire period), then the capacity of its battery will be reduced by 80% and will be 4800 mAh. Of course, such a calculation was made with great reassurance since discharging a smartphone’s battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh per day is still something to try. And doing it every day for three years is completely unrealistic. So, in reality, the battery degradation is likely to be even less over this entire period.
But that’s not all. For a period of 1-2 years, the battery capacity should not drop at all, and the same applies to the smooth operation of the interface – it should remain at the “out of the box” level throughout this period. By the way, about the smoothness of work: Redmi believes that Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G in this regard are not inferior to the flagships on the Snapdragon 865 platform. And the company has a reason for this.
