This feature has been tested over the past month and is now available to all users
Today, the developers of the WhatsApp messenger released an update that allows users to mute their chats forever. Previously, the company allowed users to mute chats for up to a year, after which it was automatically turned back on.
WhatsApp can finally be silenced forever
However, the sound can now be turned off permanently. In fact, it replaced the “One Year” option with “Forever”. This feature has been tested over the past month and is now available to all users.
If you want to turn off the sound in chats permanently, you need to do the following:
- Open WhatsApp, press and hold the desired chat
- Select the mute icon on top
- In the mute settings, select “Always”
This method works for both individual and group chats. Available on Android and iOS, the company has also added it to WhatsApp Web on PC.
