WhatsApp policy will change, dissenters face ex-communication from the messenger

The changes are related to the way WhatsApp and its parent company Facebook handle user data. The new conditions will come into force on February 8. Before that, users will begin to receive notifications from the service about upcoming changes and with the opportunity to express their consent.

The messenger team has introduced a new function with which it will send informational messages to users in the application – not advertising, but news about new functions and the like.

A banner-style pop-up alert will notify users of the new conditions, and when clicking on this banner, the user will see the full description and be able to agree to the new policy.

All the details about the innovations are unknown; however, hints of changes have already appeared in the beta versions. They will be related to WhatsApp service and data processing and how companies and brands can use Facebook services to store and manage their WhatsApp chats.

In the screenshot, you can see a WhatsApp warning for “dissent”:

By clicking on “I Agree,” you accept the new terms, which come into force on February 8, 2021. After that date, you will need to agree to the new terms to continue using WhatsApp, or you can always delete your account. ”
