WhatsApp will feature “self-destruct images”. The innovation has already been called useless
The developers of WhatsApp messenger are preparing to release the “self-destruct images” feature designed to increase the security and privacy of platform users. However, on thematic forums, they have already nicknamed it “another useless innovation.”
The new function was noticed by the thematic resource WABetaInfo, which published several screenshots with its use. We are talking about disappearing photos and images that can be sent in the Messenger versions for Android and iOS.
It is indicated that such photos cannot be exported or copied from the chat. However, nothing is said about the inability to take screenshots before the published images disappear, which casts doubt on the usefulness of the function.
Resource XDA Developers called the new development of WhatsApp “as useless as disappearing messages” that appeared in the messenger last November. The latter allows the messenger users to send messages in chats, which will be automatically deleted after seven days. The function can be activated for both individual and group chats. The messenger does not prevent the capture of chat screenshots and does not even warn the sender about such attempts. According to XDA Developers, this makes the feature completely useless.
