Details on the best smartphone display to date
At the time of the Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone announcement, it was announced that its display received the highest rating from the DisplayMate laboratory, which rated the screen at A +. Now details have emerged as to why the display is so good.
Why Xiaomi Mi 11 is so good. Its screen got 13 DisplayMate records
The screen has a diagonal of 6.81 inches at a resolution of 2K (3200 x 1440 pixels). The frame rate is 120 Hz, and the touch layer response rate is 480 Hz. The display is almost perfectly calibrated when operating in sRGB or DCI-P3 modes and has 100 per cent coverage of these colour spaces in normal display mode. The automatic picture adjustment system allows you to increase the saturation and contrast to make images even brighter. Also, in rich colour mode, the screen covers 139% sRGB and 111% DCI-P3.
Also, the screen of Xiaomi Mi 11 turned out to be very bright: when the whole screen is white, then the maximum brightness value is 996 cd / m 2, and if half of the screen is white, then the brightness reaches 1221 cd / m 2. The maximum luminance value and sRGB to DCI-P3 mode is 505 cd / m 2. The display is perfectly readable even in bright ambient light, also due to its low reflectivity.
Colours remain perfectly accurate even when viewing the display from an angle. At 30 degrees, the display dims by only 29%. That being said, DisplayMate notes that typical LCDs have a brightness loss of more than 50%.
In total, the Xiaomi Mi 11 has set or repeated 13 records in the DisplayMate database.
Recall that the standard version of the Xiaomi Mi 11 went on sale today, and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro with a completely new camera was shown in two colours.
