Wildberries buys Bank Standard-Credit
According to Kommersant, the largest online store Wildberries is interested in purchasing Standard-Credit Bank, which is one of the fourth hundred banks in Russia in terms of assets and capital. Loyalty programs, gift cards, and credit instruments will be launched on the basis of a new financial organization for Wildberries. It will also go through settlements with suppliers of goods presented in the Wildberries catalog. Experts are confident that buying an existing bank, albeit not the largest one, is a much easier way to build your own financial institution than creating a bank from scratch.
Wildberries will have their own bank
To create your own bank from scratch, you need to have capital in the amount of 1 billion rubles. Equity capital of “Standard-Credit” in the third quarter of this year – 312 million rubles. It is expected that the deal will take place with a premium of about 50 million rubles to the capital.
Wildberries have not yet commented on the situation. But analysts believe that this is the right decision: with its own bank, the company will be able to launch loyalty programs and other sales incentives faster.
