Will the Nissan Juke get even weirder?

They will be created based on Hyper concepts

Nissan has confirmed it will produce future all-electric versions of its Juke and Qashqai crossovers alongside the next-generation Leaf at its plant in Sunderland, UK, and said the new electric vehicles will be inspired by the series of Hyper concepts recently unveiled in Japan.

The Japanese automaker announced it will invest a total of up to $3.75 billion to produce three electric vehicles, build three battery gigafactories with partner Envision AESC and related infrastructure at its plant in Sunderland, UK. Once completed, the Nissan EV36Zero center in Sunderland will produce three electric vehicles and their battery cells at three gigafactories.

Of the total investment, up to $1.41 billion will be allocated to research, development and production of the electric Juke and Qashqai. This amount includes improvements to equipment and production processes, character training, and supplier equipping.

Nissan’s Hyper Urban concept will influence the design of the upcoming Qashqai EV, while Hyper Punk will shape the shape of the Juke EV. It is worth noting that the strange design of the Juke was criticized by many media and ordinary users. It was previously announced that the 2021 Chill-Out concept car will be the inspiration for the next Leaf.

The automaker said it will provide more information about the three upcoming electric vehicles, including names, specifications and launch dates, at a later date.

Nissan said the electricity needed to produce electric vehicles and batteries in Sunderland will be supplied by the EV36Zero microgrid, which produces 100% renewable electricity from the company’s wind and solar farms, including a brand new 20MW solar farm.

Nissan previously confirmed that all of its new cars in Europe will now be fully electric. By 2030, the automaker expects its passenger car lineup in Europe to be 100% electric.
