Windows 10 does not allow you to “roll back” the PC to its original state. What to do

The reset feature is located in the Recovery section of Settings, providing an easy way to reset your Windows 10 PC to factory settings.

However, some users of Windows 10 version 2004 had a problem disabling this life-saving feature in some cases. At the same time, the error “There was a problem when resetting your PC. No changes were made. ”

The feature can help you fix a number of Windows 10 problems and crashes, fix a general system slowdown, or prepare your computer for transfer to another user. It removes all user files from the device and reinstalls the OS, or performs a partial recovery while keeping the files.

As noted by the support team, the problem is on “some hardware configurations” and prevents any type of recovery. Microsoft hasn’t fixed the problem yet, but has come up with a quick workaround:

  • Find Command Prompt from the Start Menu
  • Right-click to select Run as administrator
  • Enter a custom command and then press Enter.
  • Reboot device
