Microsoft has begun testing a new system of access keys, which should replace passwords. The latest test build of Windows 11 Insider Preview (23486) allows you to use the Windows Hello biometric authentication system to sign in to sites.

Users will be able to sign in to accounts in the browser using fingerprint, face, and Windows Hello PIN. 

According to Microsoft, the innovation can be used with websites that support the creation of access keys. In Edge and Chrome browsers, the option to sign in with a passkey should be in the “Windows Hello or Foreign Security Key” section. Saved access keys can be managed by going to Accounts and then Access Keys in Windows Settings.
