I even had to cut out “Explorer”
Windows 11, which normally requires at least 4 GB of RAM, was launched on a PC with 176 MB of RAM. This is a new record.
The record was again set by an NTDev enthusiast who managed to run Windows 11 on a system with 200 MB of RAM six months ago . When setting a new record, he again used the tiny11 lightweight assembly, but it also had to be finalized, turning off and cutting out everything that was possible. In particular, unlike the previous record, this time even the “Explorer” went under the knife.
Windows 11 launched on a PC with just 176MB of RAM.
The PC was based on the Ryzen 7 5800HS. Judging by the video, the system worked stably, although very slowly. By the way, the Xeno developer, commenting on the achievement of NTDev, said that Windows 11 can be made to work with 96 MB of RAM, but then the system is only suitable for typing in a notepad.
