Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World will not go on sale outside of Japan until April
ININ Games and G Choice have partnered with development studio Artdink to announce the release of their action-platformer Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World in Japan and beyond.
As it became known, in the Land of the Rising Sun Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World will go on sale on April 22 this year for PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
As for the western release, the version of Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World for this region has only an approximate release date – the second quarter (that is, the period from April to June) of this year.
Recall that Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is a remake of Wonder Boy IV from 1994. Reimagining the classics is the responsibility of the original game development team led by Ryuichi Nishizawa.
The PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions will be available in both digital and retail in the US and Europe. The physical edition includes a free copy of Wonder Boy IV.
It is reported that the plot of Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World will remain true to the original source, but the developers will make many improvements and updates to the remake.
In particular, Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World promises voicing of the characters ( “for the first time in history” ), “dynamic and impressive cutscenes and animations”, as well as a simplified model.
