The new Xiaomi 14 series will be equipped with Leica Summilux lenses for the first time, as just announced by Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group and General Manager of the Redmi brand.
Moving image optics have reached a critical “leap point.” Xiaomi and Leica jointly introduce a new generation optical system solution consisting of the most advanced Leica Summilux lens in mobile imaging to date and a new professional image sensor for mobile optics, making mobile devices truly indispensable for instant and precise capture in all situations and scenarios.
Xiaomi 14 will receive a top-end Leica Summilux lens and the latest sensor.
He added that “this unusual optical system will be used for the first time in the new Xiaomi 14 series of mobile phones, which will be released this month.”
Earlier, insiders reported that the top-end fast Leica Summilux lens will have an F/1.4 aperture.
The presentation is expected on October 27.
