Deliveries of smart cellular devices in the period from January to March inclusive amounted to 345.5 million units. This is 25.5% more than last year’s result when shipments were equal to 275.2 million units. In other words, sales jumped by a quarter.

The largest supplier is Samsung, with a 21.8% share. In second place is Apple, which controls approximately 16.0% of the global market.

Three Chinese developers follow this. So, third place was taken by Xiaomi, which showed a result of 14.1%. Then there are OPPO and Vivo with shares of 10.8% and 10.1%, respectively.

It is important to note that telecommunications giant Huawei has completely dropped out of the top five. The mobile business of this company suffered greatly due to tough sanctions from the United States, and the Honor subsidiary against this background was separated into an independent structure.

It is also noted that 5G technology is currently one of the key growth factors in the global smartphone market.
