Xiaomi has added three smartphone models – Redmi Note 9, Redmi 9 and Poco M2 – to the list of End of Life devices. The life cycle of devices is completed, which means that not only will they no longer receive security updates, but they will also not be repaired or maintained in official centers of the company.

Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 9 were absolute hits in their time, but even now millions of people around the world use these smartphones. Xiaomi’s decision cannot be considered a surprise, given that the devices came out three years ago, but users need to keep in mind that if repairs are needed, they will have to contact third-party services – the official ones may simply not have spare parts for these devices.
Recall that a day ago, Xiaomi removed Redmi Note 9 Pro from the “hit list” : unlike Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 9, this model will continue to receive software updates.
