Xiaomi Mi A3 received a fixed firmware with Android 11 – smartphones will no longer turn into “bricks”

A few days ago, the Chinese company Xiaomi unexpectedly began updating  Mi A3 smartphones to Android 11. However, it turned out that installing this update disrupts the devices, turning smartphones into “bricks”. Xiaomi asked users to refrain from installing this update and re-released it a few days later, fixing known issues.

According to online sources, the new Xiaomi update for Mi A3 smartphones does not cause any problems after installation and updates the software platform of the devices to Android 11. In addition, it also contains security updates for December 2020. Unfortunately, only those Xiaomi Mi A3 owners who did not do this a few days ago will be able to update their smartphones. Users whose smartphones have become unusable after trying to upgrade to Android 11 will have to contact Xiaomi service centres to restore their devices to work. The Chinese manufacturer promises to repair such smartphones for free.

Recall that a few days ago, Xiaomi, without beta testing, began to distribute an update for Mi A3 smartphones, which allows you to switch to Android 11. Soon after that, a lot of messages from users appeared on the manufacturer’s support sites and other web resources, who complained that their smartphones stopped working after installing the update. Xiaomi quickly acknowledged the problem and asked Mi A3 users to refrain from downloading the package. Now the bugs have been fixed, and the vendor has started to re-deploy the update.
