Perhaps this model will be released next year
Users of the well-known XDA-Developers forum managed to find in the MIUI 12 firmware code (a closed Chinese beta version tested on Mi 10 Pro) a mention of a new Xiaomi smartphone equipped with a flexible screen. The device is codenamed Cetus.

There is a lot of data in the code related to monitoring the state of the screen – folded or unfolded. Based on this, it was concluded that a flexible display was used in Cetus. From the specifications of the model, Android 11 and a 108 megapixel camera are indicated. One of the Qualcomm SoCs (obviously the top-end Snapdragon 875) will act as a hardware platform.
Nothing more is said about Сetus. It’s not a fact, of course, that such a model will come out at all, but the company’s fans are definitely waiting for it. Samsung will have the third generation of the foldable flagship next year, and Xiaomi has not yet presented the first model with a flexible screen. Given Huawei’s troubles, Xiaomi could make a good debut in this niche.
