Xiaomi taught the Mi Band 5 bracelet to track sleep around the clock

The Mi Band 5 is the current generation of the extremely popular Xiaomi fitness trackers. The device is very similar to the previous generation model, however, it boasts a large display and magnetic charging. It is reported that the Mi Band 5 has started receiving a firmware update that brings new useful features.

The latest software has a build number of v1.0.2.46. The firmware brings a lot of improvements. First of all, it is worth noting round-the-clock sleep monitoring. Now the device independently detects when the user is sleeping and assesses the quality of rest. Users who have already updated their devices report that the tracker now treats any recumbent rest as sleep. In addition, the firmware provides support for four new languages, namely Indonesian, Greek, Vietnamese and Hebrew. The latest innovation concerns only the NFC version and is relevant only for users from China. It consists of supporting four new public transport cards in the country.

The firmware is already being distributed among the users of the device. To install it, you need to update the Mi Fit companion application on your smartphone to version v4.8.0. If after updating the application the software update does not start automatically, you should use the item “Check for Updates” in Mi Fit.
