Xiaomi teamed up with Corning to develop protective glass for Redmi Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro Max
In early March, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 10 family of smartphones (Note 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro Max). A month after the presentation, the Indian division of the Chinese tech giant released protective glass for models with a Pro prefix.
The promotional images indicate that the protective glass was made in partnership with the Corning team. It has an oleophobic coating, a tempered glass layer, an optically transparent adhesive coating, a film layer that prevents glass pieces from spilling in case of breaking, a silicone adhesive coating layer, and an anti-adhesive film. Xiaomi claims that Mi Protective Glass provides 5 times better protection against scratches and drops thanks to the additional ion exchange process. The glass is only 0.4 mm thick. The kit will contain instructions and tools necessary for correct installation.
The accessory is already available for purchase in the Indian online store Mi.com for 399 rupees (about 415 rubles). The official appearance of the protective accessory in other markets has not been reported.
