Xiaomi was able to sell 1,500 98-inch TVs in a day. The secret of success is a bargain price

The Chinese company Xiaomi has reported record sales of the “smart” TV Redmi Smart TV Max 98, equipped with a huge 98-inch 4K display.

In the course of the promotion, timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of Xiaomi, over 1660 units of Redmi Smart TV Max 98 were sold in just one day. In comparison, competing suppliers offering similar panels usually sell less than 100 such devices per month.

Xiaomi believes it has succeeded in popularizing large-sized smart TVs in the home segment. The main catalyst for sales was an attractive price – approximately USD 2825, or about 206 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate.

The Redmi Smart TV Max 98 panel has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels and provides 85 percent coverage of the NTSC color space. It is based on the Amlogic T972 processor with four ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 1.9 GHz. The equipment includes 4 GB of RAM, as well as a 64 GB flash drive. Wireless adapters Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.2 are provided.
